Treasured Event Hire and Styling Ltd

Important Notice

Following the announcement that Treasured Event Hire Ltd has ceased trading, I am aware that there has been considerable discussion, speculation and misinformation online regarding the circumstances surrounding the company's closure. I wanted to take a moment to address this personally.

Firstly, I want to make something absolutely clear. The decision to cease trading was not planned, was not part of any strategy and was not a decision that had been made months in advance whilst continuing to accept bookings or payments. The decision was only reached this week following a professional review of the company's financial position and detailed discussions with licensed insolvency practitioners. Up until that point, I was continuing to explore every possible option available to keep the business operating and fulfil the commitments we had made to our customers.

The reality is that the business reached a point where it simply could not continue. Rising overheads, increasing operating costs, mounting financial pressures, ongoing cashflow difficulties and significant personal circumstances combined to create a position where continuing to trade was no longer viable.

This was not a malicious decision, it was not an attempt to avoid responsibilities and it was certainly not a scheme to take customer money and walk away. In fact, the reason a formal insolvency process exists is to ensure that when a business reaches this position, its affairs are dealt with properly, transparently and in accordance with the law. As difficult as this decision has been, I was advised that continuing to trade was no longer in the best interests of customers, suppliers, creditors or the company itself. As director, I had a legal duty to act on that advice. Had there been a viable way to continue trading responsibly and honour every booking, I would have done so. Unfortunately, after professional review of the company's position, that was no longer possible.

This is one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I poured everything I had into this business and dedicated years of my life to building it. Anyone who visited our showroom, spoke with us on the phone, exchanged messages with us or worked alongside us will know how much we genuinely cared about our customers and the events entrusted to us. We regularly went above and beyond what was required because we were passionate about what we did and wanted every event to be special. Alongside the financial pressures facing the business, my family and I have also been dealing with significant personal circumstances which have understandably affected our ability to continue operating the company.

I am also aware that some people have questioned why our website, social media presence and communication channels have changed so suddenly. Following professional advice, we were advised to take our social media platforms offline, cease trading immediately and direct future communications through appropriate channels whilst the insolvency process begins. These were not decisions taken to avoid customers or responsibilities, but steps taken following professional advice to ensure that matters are handled correctly and consistently for all parties involved.

I am aware that a number of allegations and assumptions are currently being circulated online. Whilst I fully understand that people are upset and emotional, I would respectfully ask that speculation is not presented as fact. Some statements that have been made regarding me personally and the circumstances surrounding the company's closure are simply untrue. I would also like to clarify that I am not affiliated with, employed by, operating or launching any alternative event hire company. The closure of Treasured Event Hire Ltd was not part of any planned transition to another business and suggestions to the contrary are incorrect.

The company is now working with licensed insolvency practitioners who are responsible for managing the company's affairs and ensuring that all matters are dealt with correctly in accordance with insolvency legislation. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the company's affairs are reviewed properly and that creditors are treated fairly.

Any customers, creditors or other interested parties who require further information should contact the appointed insolvency practitioners directly:

Michael Gregson – michaelgregson@gsinsolvency.co.uk

Paul Ward – paulward@gsinsolvency.co.uk

Jack Bonner – jackbonner@gsinsolvency.co.uk

As the matter is now subject to a formal insolvency process, I am unable to comment further on individual claims, refunds or specific financial matters. These will be reviewed and dealt with through the insolvency process by the appointed practitioners.

Finally, I would like to sincerely apologise to everyone affected by this situation. This is not how I ever wanted Treasured Event Hire's story to end, and I am deeply sorry for the upset, inconvenience and disappointment caused. To every customer who trusted us, supported us, visited our showroom, recommended us or allowed us to be part of their special day, thank you. Those memories and relationships will always mean more to me than the way this story has ended.

I would also like to personally thank those customers, suppliers, industry colleagues and members of the public who have reached out with messages of kindness, understanding and support during what has been an incredibly difficult time. Whilst there has understandably been a great deal of emotion surrounding this situation, many people who knew us, worked with us or visited us over the years have taken the time to send thoughtful messages and share their experiences of us. Please know that I have seen those messages and I am genuinely grateful for them.

As much as I am truly sorry that we are unable to fulfil future events and are now required to go through this process, this has also been the hardest decision of my life for both me and my family. There is no part of this outcome that I wanted, and if there had been a responsible way to continue, I would have taken it.

Thank you.
